Entry Level Equity Trader Position
If offered a position we will give you the tools you need to start your journey as a trader. New hires begin trading the firm’s capital within the first month; we believe the market is the best classroom.
The first few months includes:
2-3 weeks classroom intensive aimed at conveying core concepts & providing basic trading software training and market trading simulation
Topics covered - stock selection, market structure, technical analysis, journaling, and reviewing trades
Rotation throughout the trading floor allowing you to adopt your own unique trading style
Daily pre-market and post-market meetings and regular seminars conducted by top traders
Regular team building exercises: trading contests, social events, volunteering, and more

Wake up, throw on your jeans and T-shirt, & head to Chimera’s Union Square office; Prepare mentally/physically for the day
8:30am: Arrive at office & begin your pre-market routine
9:10am: Firm-wide morning meeting discussing stocks in play & events of the day
9:30am: Market opens and trading begins
11:00am: Take note of specific stocks & market volumes
11:30am: Take a break in the hang out room - take on a challenger at our ping-pong table
12:00pm: Meet in the conference room to go over the best trades, psychology, & technology related questions about our Proprietary Trading Platform
12:30pm: Lunch break! Pick from an endless amount of great spots in the neighborhood or bring your own and enjoy it in the hang out room
1:00pm: Office Hours - Meet one on one or in a small group with a mentor
2:30pm: Take note of specific stocks & market volumes
3:57pm: Exit open positions & observe the market close
4:00pm: Market closes - Review trades & write in your journal
4:15pm: Firm wide Zoom - Review the best trades of the day & share thoughts about trading for the upcoming days/weeks
5:00pm: End of the work day
5:15pm: Grab a drink on Chimera’s Private Roof Deck overlooking Union Square Park!
